How ChurchKeeper handles your records
What we store
ChurchKeeper stores the records your church enters: member and household details, contact information, attendance, giving records, schedules, sermons, bulletins, and messages sent through the program. The church owns those records. We hold them so the church can use them.
Donations
Online gifts move from the payment processor directly to the church's own bank account. ChurchKeeper never holds donated funds. Card and bank details are handled by the processor; we store only what is needed to show the gift on the church's books and on the donor's statement.
Who can see the records
Access inside a church is set by the church. Administrators grant the treasurer, secretary, pastor, and others only what their work requires. Members with an account see the directory and their own records. ChurchKeeper staff access a church's data only when the church asks us to help with a problem.
What we don't do
We do not sell church or member data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use it to build profiles. We use service providers for hosting, email, text and voice delivery, and payment processing, and they may only handle data on our instructions.
Keeping and removing records
Records are kept as long as the church has an account with us. If the church leaves, we provide an export and delete the data afterward on request. Individual members can ask their church administrator to correct or remove their record.
Contacting us
